Education/Experience

Farhiya obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Minnesota State University Mankato in 2024. She completed her clinical practicum at M Health Fairview at the Psychiatry Clinic, where she offered psychoeducation to help families understand psychosis, its symptoms, treatment options, and how to support their loved ones with psychosis effectively. Farhiya has also worked with Hope Behavioral Health providing in-home Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services to support individuals in managing emotional and behavioral challenges while developing coping strategies to improve overall mental wellness and identifying needs, problems, and strengths. Farhiya is on track for licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and is under the supervision of Soo Moon, MA, LMFT and Celia Smith, MPH, MSW, LICSW.

Areas of Clinical Interest

Farhiya is bilingual (English & Somali) with a primary clinical focus working with a wide variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar, life transitions and multicultural concerns
